Here's a list of things you can do to secure your wireless network:
1- Change Default Administrator Passwords (and Usernames)
2- Turn on (Compatible) WPA / WEP Encryption
3- Change the Default SSID
4- Enable MAC Address Filtering
5- Disable SSID Broadcast
6- Do Not Auto-Connect to Open Wi-Fi Networks
7- Assign Static IP Addresses to Devices
8- Position the Router or Access Point Safely
9- Turn Off the Network During Extended Periods of Non-Use

If it is YOUR wireless router they are accessing. Put in a security key so only those that have the key can access your router.
See the instruction manual or run the CD that came with the router for information on how to put in a WPA/WEP key.
