I had a appointment this morning but it was cancelled at that last minute. It was a normal physical. This morning, however, I am not feeling well and actually have been feeling like this since Friday. My question is, will it make me look bad to leave when I had already an apointment that was cancelled?

it depends on company policy and who you work for. all that matters is if it will bother your boss and/or whoever signs your paychecks. when your sick or have an emergency, who cares what your coworkers think. its not their life and its none of their business so they'll just have to get over it. and if your the boss then it really doesnt matter because YOU'RE THE BOSS. if it wont be a problem for you to miss work, then politely ask for permission to leave. if they dont know what your appointment was for you, then you can say that it was to see your doctor because you've been feeling ill, but it was cancelled at the last minute and you thought you were at least ok enough to continue coming to work. but now you feel worse and you need to go home and just reschedule your appointment. then if you continue feeling sick, let your boss know that you may not return to work until your next appointment if its soon, or whenever you start to feel better. they should all be able to understand, especially if your allowed to have sick days off. i'm sure your not the first person who's had to miss work due to illness so stop worrying about how it will make you look and just do whatever you have to to get well. plus your probably of no use at work when your too busy being sick and trying to get better. it would be worse to waste time trying to work, especially if what you have is contagious. trust me, your colleagues would rather have you at work healthy, then risking your health and/or theirs and getting worse. GO HOME!

Does your manager know the appt. is canceled? If not, don't say a word! If he does, tell him/her that the reason you had the appt. is because you haven't been felling well and that you would still like to work until the time is promised but you need to get some rest so you can be prepared to come to work tomorrow. Throwing out there the possibility that you will miss a whole day versus a half a day will make your boss think hard about giving you a hard time about an early departure. He/she would rather you recuperate at home and be ready for the next day versus getting sicker at work now and missing a few days.

Depends on how long you have been with the company and if you make this a habit. If you have been there a while? Do you have the time to take off? I dont think it will make you look bad,

if they know the appointment is canceled then yes but I would explain that you are not feeling well and up to your normal standards... I would seek medical help (depending on your problem) But if they don't know, won't hurt them....
