We compare ourself because we are insecure.
Even with all the compliments in the world from other people, if we dont get the compliment from the person whom we love, we start to feel doubtful.
Comparing ourself to bf's ex's is normal and no matter how much we try to stop, we always will.
Another problem guys can use this against us. Making him do something for you can result in a "(name) never used to ask me to do that/ never used to be like that" and the comparison process begins again.

I am a happily married woman and the second wife of a loving husband. Women by nature are more inclined to vanity and you even say you compare yourself to your fella's ex because I suspect that you think he is losing interest in you. Most decent husbands or male partners I assume silently compare as women do. We compare ourselves primarily because of the fear that he loves his ex more but show him you are better than his ex.

People always compare themselves to others its human nature basic instinct of feeling competitive or jealous. But yeh i compare myself to my fellas ex's, but have come to realise you always move on to better things rather than trying to find something from the past that is why they are in the past after all due to there being something wrong.

I am exactly the same size as you :) and yes i do! Im with a guy who is so thin that people think he has an eating disorder. this has got me paranoid cause i thought that he would worry about the size of me in comparison. I saw his ex girlfriend and she was so small and thin. Compared to me who's really curvy.
I try not to let it bother me, but with past eating disorders its hard. its nice to know im not the only one who feel this way. :)
And if she's not pretty anymore; then dont worry! haha.

Of course it's natural to compare yourself. It doesn't make you paranoid or shallow. As long as you don't let it take over your relationship, that is! Always remember that your boyfriend wouldn't be with you if he didn't think you were attractive, sexy and have a great personality. Just relax and remember - you have one thing your boyfriend's ex doesn't have - him!

I used to be really worried about the ex (we all do it don't we?). I was so curious & jealous of this ex for a while..
Then I saw a pic of her :/ Don't know why I was ever bothered. Nor did she sounds like a nice person!
I really wouldn't worry, he's with YOU for a reason =) and she is an ex for reason too!

never - im not a very confident person BUT i know if my mans with me its because he doesnt want to be with her. If he wanted her he would have found a identi - kit replacement - and he didnt....we are totally opposite - she was petite and dark - me buxom and blonde - to be honest now im thinking about it i am a much more womanly type and so i suppose I DO feel superior to her - hehe - and i got him :) nope - im not comparing :)
