I know i sound like a big baby but ive been having some pain down there and just was wondering how uncomforable it will be

Yea I know wait till the labor pain starts!!

They stick they're fingers in and kinda feel around your cervix to determine how dialated you are. Don't think you sound like a big baby because the first time i went i didn't have anyone to ask so i didn't know what to expect. It does hurt though. Not a whole bunch but it is kinda of painful. They can also tell you how the baby is positioned. What station. And how effaced you are. (how thin your cervix has become) GOOD LUCK

It is just like a pelvic exam but a little more painful. The dr is going to stick anywhere from a finger or two in there to most of this hand depening on where you cervix is. Mine faces backwords so most of the hand goes up there. It is only un comfey for a second and then it's all over. Good luck!! :)

i just got this exam done at the doctors office last week. He'll have to go up there with his fingers, FAR, to see if you've dialated. It hurts, ALOT. But they have to to the test to see if you are dialating yet. He'll probably be in there for a couple of seconds. Nothing to worry about. But it is pretty uncomfortable.

Remember, The doctor is a professional. And the nurse will be there also.

They will stick their fingers in you to tell how far you are dilated. They have been trained to know how to measure. And yes, I'm sorry to tell you, but it is pretty uncomfortable really. But it doesn't last long. Also, don't be disappointed if they say you aren't dilated at all or only 1/2 cm or something. I think it makes it worse if you are thinking that you are farther dilated and then you aren't. Good luck! :)
