Can you hurt your wii if you leave it in standyby 24/7? Also, if you leave a disc in the console for a long time, will it get hurt? If you download a game from the virtual console and you delete it, can you get your data back or will you have to beat it again?

Once you buy a game from the VC you have it forever. If you delete it from the main menu you can go back to VC and redownload it for free. As for the 24/7 thing yes. You can keep it on for 24/7 while its off...meaning once you turn it off it stays connected to the net forever...if you want. It does not always stay connected though every couple minutes it will check for download, messages...etc. And for the disc thing the answer is also yes. Keeping a disc in does nothing its just like any other console.
Just re-read the part about the game data. I have not bought a game yet but I am sure the saved date will stay on your system.
