I mean any books on theh ninth grade level that don't deal with death, murder, sickness, or disease? This is for my lit class, and my teacher challenged us to find a happy book. If there are any, put down the name and the author. Thanks!

Green Eggs and Ham...works on ANY level. If your teacher challenged YOU then you should find the book on your own...not ask Yahoo Answers to find it for you.

That is quite a challenge. I am not sure this book meets your criteria, but check it out!

The Plum Explosion -- A novel by John van der Zee

If short stories are accepted, try "The Bookshelf for Boys and Girls" Perhaps volume 3 - Folk and Fairy Tales, or some of the other volumes.

Some of the stories should fit the criteria.

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, I considered that a happy book but Happiness is found anywhere. Be Here Now by Ram Dass. Dan Millman's, Way of the Peaceful Warrior. Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut is a must read, some may not find it happy but screw it.

A Long Way From Chicago by Peck
Cheaper By the Dozen (well, the dad does die at the end, but the whole story is upbeat until then, and even after he dies good stuff still happens to the family)
A Dog's Life by Peter Mayle

That is a tough one!

in case you appreciate puns, twiddling with words & words, diffused humor, then i strongly advise PG Wodehouse or the Asterix & Obelix comics. they're merely plenty exciting & uplifting. you ought to even attempt O Henry's short memories to slot each and every temper, a number of Agatha Christie's whodunits. yet another e book that's rather soothing is The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. and particular, do no longer seem at Twilight, seem in the direction of first easy ;-)) continuously uplifting & full of wish ! happy analyzing & happy days forward :-)
