I absolutely know what you're talking about. I bet he's not going to go home tonight either. I don't even like his hair that much. His hair last night was crazy! He sounded good in try-outs, but that was about it. I wonder why he just started sounding terrible. The first time I heard him I thought he was pretty good, but now he sucks. All I can say is it's not the judges fault. The decision isn't in their hands, because if it was, he'd be gone.

He's not untalented, he's just not as experienced. If you look carefully and more importantly HEAR carefully, you'll see that he is improving every week though I must say he isn't as good as Melinda and the like. He is opening up and getting used to performing and that really brings out his musical soul.
I think if he works on his voice more, be it after AI or even right now, he'll be able to sing very well.
I do think he was bitchy to Simon but Simon has been really mean to him. I read on the AI website that when he got through to the top 24, he really felt that Simon was his favorite judge. But ever since then, Simon has been really mean to him. It would be wise to explore the reason why Simon was mean to him- mainly that he didn't sing well and was really shy and reserved in his performances. But I feel every week I can see him putting in effort to improve and it sickens me to see Simon spit out horrendous comments to Sanjaya. I mean Sanjaya is human after all and he has feelings. If I got such comments, I'd really be heartbroken. I think Sanjaya has shown a significant amount of maturity in handling such comments but perhaps tonight he might have just reached his tipping point- which is probably why he was bitchy to Simon.
I didn't like that Simon didn't ever proffer constructive criticism to Sanjaya- that was really disgusting. Not only is he willingly evading his duty as a judge but it shows a huge lack of respect for Sanjaya as an AI participant at the very least.
I personally think that while Sanjaya may be one of the weakest contestants right now (I feel THE WEAKEST is Haley), he really isn't that bad a singer. It's just that when you compare him to powerhouses like Melinda, the musical gap is pretty obvious. It is something that he can work on and if he does, he'll come up with some pretty good music in the future.
I don't like how people proclaim that he is "horrible" or that they "hate him". Such comments are absolute and vague at best. I don't know if it is a real carefully-formed opinion or the blind-following of Simon's attitude towards Sanjaya. If it is the latter, it shows a huge lack of logic and reasoning- something that should already be inherent in educated people like yourselves.

AMEN TO YOU! It's about damn time somebody got it! I'm so glad i'm not the only one who feels this way! I don't know what is up with this! The 1st contestant who got voted off of AI really shouldn't have been, but he admitted the mistake of forgetting his lyrics and that's OK. But i really hit the roof when Stephanie Edwards was voted off ahead of Sanjaya and she was one of my favorites to win the whole thing (LaKisha and Jordin are my other favorites)! We all know that everybody can sing circles around that fool! The only reason he keeps getting voted back week after week is because of his hair! That's it! You have little girls who put him into the so-called "cute" factor and they dial in by the thousands! This is not about looks or hair, people! It's about singing! He can't do it! He's too basic! I was also PO'd when Sundance Head went home and Sanjaya stayed! Why? It makes no sense when i call in to vote my favorites and all i get is a busy tone no matter how much i dial! I think this all has to do with race! The 1st two who were voted off were Black, so the greater majority of America will conspire not to vote for those who are of color! I guess the next to go will probably be LaKisha, Melinda, and Jordin (I hope that's not the case because if it is, I will never watch AI again)
I hope they send his azz (Sanjaya) home today! Wake up, America! I know you know talent when you see it!

They know what's going on but right now there's nothing they can do about it. It's been on different TV news shows. Ryan and the judges are also sick of it. What will happen is they will change for next year the way the voting happens or give more power to the judges. Sanjaya is awful and it's a spit in the face to anyone on there working hard to win or anyone who worked to put the show on with what it's intended for.

I completely agree. This has gotten out of hand now. It's become just a big joke now. As far as making it know to the producers, I'm sure they know whats going on. They are playing it up for all it's worth and making the most of it. For ratings, Sanjaya is good for the show. He's the one on there everyone is talking about.

You're missing the point. The initiative to keep Sanjaya on the show is to point out what a complete farce the whole American Idol phenomenon is.
I heard some of the performances last night. They ruined some perfectly good songs. Ugh.

I guess you didn't hear that Howard Stern is having everyone to vote for Sanjaya, and another site is also trying to get everyone to vote for the worse on American Idol. Seems they are trying to ruin the show. The site is www.votefortheworst.com

I couldn't agree more. This whole Sanjaya thing has just turned into a big joke, and evidently, it's fun for people to watch. I think it's ridiculous, and unfair because those who CAN sing and deserve to be there are getting kicked off so that untalented kid can stay!

They know - there's no way they don't know. They follow everything happening very closely.
The problem is that, even though we all know it's a joke, they are still legitimate votes. The only way to do anything about it is to change the format of the show - like letting the judges have more say and America have less. Of course, they might as well change the name of the show at that point. It sucks that this is happening.

Get over it...honestly it's Hollywood and there is nothing that you can do about it. I'm not saying I think Sanjaya should stay but I"ve given up on getting mad about it.
