Hi,
My 97 Chevy lumina is making a ticking noise when idle, and also when you slow down or stop and then accelerate the engine is sluggish and it's hard to pick up any speed, does anyone know what the cause of this might be?

Thanks!

When was the last time it was given a complete tune up. If you are having trouble answering the question, then tune it up. Replace the air & fuel filter.

The ticking noise is a rocker arm. Nothing too serious. Will last a long time.

probable quite a number of of the valve lifters is getting drained. first element to envision is the oil tension. 2d is the oil viscosity (too extreme?). in the event that they are ok, the main inexpensive thank you to perhaps restoration a lazy valve lifter is to place ask your self secret Oil into the crankcase (without overfilling, of direction) and run that for 20 minutes. exchange the oil and filter out and desire that is fixed. If no longer, you will would desire to pull lifters, no longer a job for the fairway.
