Hi there..
First I'd probably could answer this question a bit better If I knew what a ring dance is, lol.. but i'll give it my best shot.
ok ,here goes..
For lips.. I would put on the same colour of the red apple dress, or a tad lighter along with a very nice gloss, alot of these newer lip apperal's have the type that, on one end is the actual colour of lip choice and the other end has a clear gloss , look for a good quality as well it does make a hudge difference.
For eyes..I would again choose the apple red that's the same or closest to your red dress,or a bronzy/shimmery it's like a cream kind There's also a newer type that is like a shimmery, kinda metalic type but very lightly brushed on spareiling you can also use a few colours on the eye mix together some golds and bronzes and use the one colour on the eyelid it's self and the other colour on the eye that's just under your eyebrows and for the eyeliner ,I would either use the black eyeliner or a medium brownish colour eyeliner, put on with just a thin line under the bottom eyelid's,
Some also use the liner on the top lid ,right about where your eyelashcome out.
As far as mascara, again I'd stick to black.,and another thing I use is a eyelash curler,it really helps by thinking your lashes are even longer, it also supposed to seperate's each lash and bring them outa hiding doing this process the lash and the curlering the lashes makes the lash come out does make the lash bigger plus it's easier to apply the mascara when the lil baby lashes are hiding ..lol, ... *O* and also you can use the creamy glitterly eye cream which is so very attractive,Imho,I'd go check out one of them hair stylist people that also work at Shoppers Drug Mart, OOO, they may not have Shoppers, however a drug store that carries make up in their own ,il'l sections is a god place to go and bring your dress and acssories, they will show you dfferent types and u can chooze after you seen it foe yourself, before spending that money on something your not happy with
Or even check out some salon's or nail place's, that do ppl's finger nails(manicures),(pedicurs) they also do pedicures ,wash, file ,and have your feet soak in a swirrley type jaquse,,sp..
Blush.
Now for the face, checks..Get a real professional blush
brush, it makes a different also make sure the hairs(brissels) on the blush are soft but stern.
I'd use the blush that's yet again close to ever other colours I mentioned.
If I were you I wouldn't be worrying about any type of foundations as you say your skin is a tan colour, but I would however after all the makeup is applied on your face, use a traslutionant ..sp..power.
It gives everything a finnishing and natural look, also by using the powder it almost works like it protects the face you just put on.plus it keeps the makeup last long due to protection.
I don't know if anybody's ever told you , the key to have a great face look with make up is to seal it apply powder with a nice big thick brush as I mentioned before when using that blush,it's also said by professionals, "the best way to wear make up or how make up is supposed to look, is by not really noticing you have any make up on.
all the best hun.
have lots of fun hun..cool that rhymes..Hope this has helped
If you wear eye shadow or some type of colour for your eyelids, I'd choose a shimmer sparkle very light browish or redish shawdow ,with a little glitter , for eyeliner Id again choose a black or medium brown for the bottom eyeliner .
As for blush If you use it, I'd keep it light , as you mentioned your skin town is tan.

I have the same coloring as you and red is one of my favorite colors to wear. I don't know how much make-up you normally wear, but this would be a great opportunity to have some fun with it:
Face - Since the skin is already tan, you don't need to go heavy on the bronzer, but a really good way to get a sun-kissed glow to your skin this time a year is get a glimmer bronzer and do a light coating of that high on the forhead, the upper cheek bones, and a little on the bridge of the nose and the chin.
Eyes - This is the real chance to have fun. Do a black liner above the eyelash line, going thin towards the inner eye and broadening the line as you go towards the outer corner of the eye (this gives the "cat-eye" effect). Then do a very thin layer of black liner right below the lower lashes and use the padded end of the liner, or a simple eye-shadow applicater, and run that over the lower lashes to give a smokey-eye look below the eye. Be careful not to put the liner on the inner lid, this closes the eye and makes it look smaller, do it below the lashes. Next, take a light gray eyeshadow and put it on the upper lid and take it almost to the eyebrow but leave a little space. Then take a dark gray eye shadow and fill in the crease of the eye, again making a broad strip towards the outer eye and making it thin as you go down the crease towards the inner eye. Now, take a white eye shadow and put a thick stipe of that directly under the eyebrow. Right now everything looks like a mess, but take a small eye brush and brush over the entire eye (go from the nose and out) This will smooth all the colors together and give a polished finish. The white under the eyebrow lifts gives lift to the brow and opens the look of the eye, while the gray gives dark color around the eye to give it great evening look. Go heavy on the mascara on both the upper and lower lashes.
Cheeks - Since you used bronzer you should only do a thin coat of pink on the apples of the cheeks.
Lips - Use a pink/red rone on the lips with a light gloss to finish out the look.
I have used this before and it turns out beautifully. Best of luck to you and have a great time at the dance!!!

Just thought I'd add my 2-scents
205 Answers for Makeup for a Red Dress! This has got to be a record of some kind.
I worked with some famous and not so famous people of all shapes, sizes and colors. There are some good Answers, but the truth is, and this is a fact: You always work with your own skin type and color. After this is achieved you can kick it up a notch.
Do this by jazzing it up with a Red matte lip color that compliments your skin tone also. Warm skin tone Golden Rd Apple. Cool skin tone Silver-cool Rd Apple. Lip color. Big tip when using any RED lip color is to line the lips. AND DON'T USE a GLOSS!!! Sorry but red gloss is great for a photo shoot, but not a Dance. Trust me, a gloss +red= MESS. It will be on every cup, glass, & person you come into contact with. Include on your teeth, and it will bleed all-around the rest of your face. PLEASE USE MATTE.
I agree w/ lashes if your experienced wearing them, they flip at the edges, and if well....just wear Black Mascara.
Lastly, Silver eyeshadow tends to turn BLUE. If you email me I could design the perfect look. But, my 360 is down for the moment.
Just have fun!!!!

Well, for one, you picked the perfect color for your skin tone. From what you're telling me, you have yellow undertones, which go best with warm colors, such are red and brown. Red is such a wonderful color because you can really play around with it.
Since you are wearing such a bold, wonderful color, you should have make up to match. Try a red the same color of your dress, or a dark brown for you lips, with some shimmery, glossy overcoat. Your eyes are the most essential part of your outfit, and with red, you want very bold eyes. True liquid eyeliner and mascara. I recommend Maybelline; they are the best when it comes to eyes. Have some bronzey, shimmery eyeshadow. Darker near the lids and getting lighter as you work towards the eyebrows. Have some natural looking cheeks, perhaps a bronzer or something of that sort. Red dress, red lips (if you choose the red), and red cheeks just wouldn't flow right.
Hope this helps!

I have similar features and have had the best luck (most compliments) when I went with a natural eye (i.e. latte under brow, mocha on the lid and espresso in outer corner extending up into the crease - remember to blend!!! Line the upper lid with a chocolate brown liner from inner to outer corner and then line lower lid from outer corner to about half way in - Again, blend or smudge the liner in the outer corners - this will give a smokey look. Finish the eyes with curling your lashes and applying black mascara - no more than 2 coats. You want your eyes to look naturally enhanced - not like a raccoon - if you end up with the latter, be sure to break out a tissue or makeup sponge and blend, blend, blend!!!
Now for cheeks, use something that has a berry coloring to it - stay away from red. Maybe a reddish raspberry color. If you have the ability - mix a couple of blushes together to get the berry color. Again, you want to enhance what you have - you don't want to look like a clown so don't be heavy handed with your brush - always tap off extra blush before applying to your cheeks. Finally, Go with a great red lipstick that will tie together your dress color with the rest of your face. You most likely will want a red that has a blue under tone than a yellow one. A good rule of thumb to remember when doing make up is to pick either your eyes or your lips. If you go light on your eyes then you can wear a color intense lipstick. If you want you eyes to stand out - then wear a more muted shade on your lips - If you try to make both stand out at the same time you'll just look like a girl whose gone through mommy's make-up case.
Hope this helps.

I have dark hair, eyes and tan myself.... I look good in red lipstick so for this special occasion you might look great with a red lipstick and then keep the rest of your face light and fresh. Add mascara and a little eye shadow and easy on the cheeks. Another look can be a bold smoky bronze goldish eye with bronzy lip liner and just a light or clear gloss on lips with subtle cheeks.... If your near a Mall I would try a store called Ulta or Sephoras they carry all the major cosmetic lines so you can pick and choose according to your taste and budget... MAC cosmetic line is is also good or the traditional Clinique.... but dare to be different, be a trend setter (get professional advise at the Mall)

Well there are few different things you can do but stay away from being matchy instead opt for coordinating colors and you definitely want to boost your own eye color make them pop.Make sure you blend the colors well. If you want to try smoky eyes keep it away from the crease of your eyelid for that I suggest a smoky green or dusky mauve. If you want to play up your lips play down your eyes and vice versa.Try highlighting your brow add a touch of eyeliner and mascara and a dab of color on your cheeks and pump up your pout with a deep red.Red can be an intimidating color but the trick is to find your right shade if you would like your teeth to look whiter use a blue based red.And since your hair is brown and so are oyur eyes depending on your skin tone I suggest a deep shimmery ruby.Put a little highlighter on the inside corners of your eyes. If you are planning on using bronzer not too much a little goes a long way.Remember if you use colored mascara use it only on your top lashes. I hope this helps even a little and have fun.

Depends on which feature you want to stand out. The rule of thumb generally was if you go with dark, smoky eyes, then lay off the heavy lipstick and go with a nude shade or gloss. If you want stand-out lips, play down the eye makeup. Nowadays (according to the latest Marie Claire magazine), wearing both smoky eyes and striking lips is no longer the gauche faux pas it once was, but there's a real science to it so that you don't end up looking like Baby Jane. For nighttime, I personally prefer a smokey eye color, as it looks provocative and suitable for evening. Find an eye pencil that is both wide and soft to achieve this look. Pale red lips, like a red lip stain (M.A.C. makes one simply called M.A.C. Red that is a satin, and it glides on almost like a stain rather than a thick lipstick) will give a finished look without making you look like Mimi Bobeck. M.A.C.'s website also allows you to email a makeup artist with questions, and that's a great resource to have!
