No. It's impossible to fail. Maybe a person didn't achieve what they set out to do, but take the word "failed" away. Do away with it completely. It just didn't work out. It's much more important learning to overcome the fear of trying....Life has it's own plans most of the time anywayz, so a person should just try and learn from any and all "success's" and "failure's." It's a never-ending learning process.
Failed is too loaded of a word, and when something doesn't work out the way it was planned it can easily lead to a self-image of being a "failure." People wrongly attach what they did or didn't do with who they are.
Society's standards are pretty whacked out.

i guess i am a little, i mean my job is kind of life threatening if i mess up, i'm in the military so my failures could cost people their lives....but i take fear of failure like i take fear of anything. It's all in how you let it affect you, bruce lee once stated that to fear death is to act as a beacon to death, you cannot be concerned with self preservation, if you are, then you have already lost the fight. So i believe, as long as i don't concentrate on the fear of failure or death, and focus on simply doing my job, then i will succeed, and those around me will benefit.

yes I am afraid of failure. Because of this, I rarely take risks because I run the chance of failing at an attempt to do something. (does that make sense?)

No. If you can't lose, you can't win. There must be a risk of failure in anything if you want to risk success. Otherwise your life is wasted being 'safe'
