I love to wear wacky things and color combinations, like light green and purple and orange and black. I like fingerless gloves and wacky tights that have black and white stripes on them. I also like the cool pimp hats (I don’t know what they call them) that they have in clairs too, but my mom says that they are impractical to wear out of the house. What job or place would be appropriate to wear these?

i live in philadelphia and there are a lot of people old and young who have your sense of style. i love seing people who dress this way.

i agree with your mom that it is impractical, if you are in a business oriented setting (white collar) like an office or working for the government, etc.

there are many community service type programs that are very flexible when it comes to dress code. some of them seek out individuals like yourself because they are trying to reach a certain group in the community.

community service oriented work is great! I'm in it that's why I know.

you could find work as a youth counselor; work with individuals with hiv/aids; single parent teents, trust me there is so much you can do without changing who you are.

just think of what you want to do,

as they suggested, the arts field area; is one if you like clothes which you obviously do, you should find maybe a new age store; there is grunge, maybe a store where they sell music instruments, a daycare would be a nice place to be as well, being as colorful as you describe yourself should bring light to such job and kids would be very happy and at ease around you , that is if you like kids.

If Homey the Clown ever loses his position, you would be a shoe in. Just joking, I am not sure what job would be open to that kind of attire other than a position that doesn't require you to be in contact with the public. Some businesses have very organic, laid back types of atmospheres and I am sure they may welcome that type of style. In my experiences though, I have not worked in an environment where that style of dress is appropriate because I have mostly worked in environments that have a dress code or some form of uniformity. I'm not saying that I am opposed to your style, but the question that you have to ask yourself is how would you feel if you walked into an establishment and a guy was wearing a fish outfit or another guy was wearing a kilt? You may find that to be a bit extreme, or you may not, but that would be their style of dress too, and if we have to be fair to you then we would have to be to everyone else too. The only set back is that I haven't walked into "anyplace" where I have seen people dress like that. Good luck.
