Recent Rodeos in our state had incidences where animals were severely injured and had to be destroyed after suffering for hours. Consequently a suggestion has been made to ban rodeos.

In my neighborhood a Oldsmobile Cutlass was used in a drive-by shooting. Should we ban Oldsmobile Cutlass', Oldsmobile's, or cars in general?

Before you go banning things, check and see what percentage of the laws governing the behavior you want to correct are being enforced.

A man shot school kids in Stockton, CA. I assume it was legal because they had to BAN a bunch of guns in order to prevent it from happening again.

A crossing guard was killed in a suburb of Sacramento. Hit by a car doing 45-50 mph in a 25 zone. Several million dollars later we had a all kinds of crap on that road to prevent speeding. NEVER ONCE was enforcing the speed limit even considered.

I have read questions on here from people who want to burn books written be conservatives or liberals. Be careful of what you want to do to correct some problem. At least 127% of the time such actions create several other problems.

I find it interesting that doing the same thing to a dog that these rodeo's do to bulls will land you in court for animal cruelty. (not talking about riding them)

However, these animals are raised for the purpose of competition, in a way, they are competitors.

I personally don't see very much of a problem with Rodeo, but some of the more dangerous and cruel events, such as Bull riding, should probably go away.

But then again, look at spain and mexico, they still kill the bull in the ring using spears. Compared to that, the rodeo doesn't seem so barbaric.

Sure why not ban the last vestiges of Western American heritage because of occasional incidents? I bet that someone can even tie the rodeo to something racist so it will be demonized like the Confederate flag.

It makes about as much sense as banning driving because people are injured and suffer when accidents happen and they have to wait for an ambulance to get there

No. I have been around rodeos all my life. And where ever you are they are doing something wrong. I rarely have seen where an animal has been harm. That would so stupid on the bull and steer owners part. Those animals are their lively hood. They make money off of them. If the animal is hurt in the process the owner makes no money.

yeah they should be banned. Or maybe just tie those "tough" brokeback mountain cowboys to the back of a bull and let it drag him around the ring for entertainment instead.
