I'm pregnant and me and my partner cant decide on a name for our baby. We want a Welsh name as we our both Welsh speaking and want to stick with our roots. We like the names
Siwan Angharad for a girl
and
Osian Harri for a boy.
Our surname is Magor (pronounced M-e-g-w-r) so anyone else got any suggestions?? We also like the names Arianwen, Esyllt, Branwen and Rhiannon for a girl and Rhydian, Taliesin and Iwan for a boy.
Any suggestions from anyone greatly received, but particularly those with knowledge of good Welsh names.
MAny thanks!!!

Fi wir yn lico Siwan, ond sa i'n siwr am Angharad yn anfodus! Beth am Siwan Medi? Neu Siwan Non? Mae Osian yn enw wych, enw fy mrawd bach!!! Ond fi hefyd yn lico Huw a Bryn. Dim yn siwr am Taliesin, swnio'n rhy hen ffasiwn!!
Pob lwc efo'r babi!!

I think it's great that you're sticking to your heritage and choosing names that fall within. However, I would recommend choosing a name for either sex that would be easy to pronounce by the common bystander. If you don't, and you don't choose a simple nickname, your child may face a little ridicule and teasing. My name is Stephene, pronounced Stephanie, after my father, and you wouldn't believe how many times I was called and still am occasionally, Stephen. It's sometimes embarrasing!
I like the name Rhiannon a lot, and Iwan is cute. Good luck!

I have a friend whose little girl is called Nia Eleri (her hubby is Welsh) - I've always liked those names. Of the names you have listed I think Arianwen and Iwan are both lovely choices.

I have a 17yr old called Cellan, he is very happy with his name and we have had many comments about how unusual and nice it is, though I have noticed it is becoming more popular! My youngest son prefers his middle name, Gethin to his given name! I also like Ioan.
I like Siwan, but prefer Eleri to Angharad, I also like Lowry!
