I did not clearly understand the policy , I left work to attend to my husband who was having a seziure. I had documentation that stated I had one full occurance left . I thought I was in the clear. but I got fired Do you ever get any consideration for I don't know.

It depends on the State where you reside; however, most States are "at-will" employers, which means they can terminate your employment at any time with no reason. However, it they terminate your employment with no good reason, you are entitled to collect unemployment insurance (Varies from the State where you reside...most States it is a maximum of 6 months and you have to file an online affidavit every week citing at least 3 places you have applied for full time work) if you can prove your employer terminated you for unjust cause.

that should qualify as an excusable absence under the family Medical Leave Act. I wuld look into this further. companies are not supposed to discipline you if you need to miss work to care for a sick family member. But you need to research this further with the authorities in your area.
