The base question on what the world should do about Iran will need to be answered differently from each country. As far as the impact the USA could, and should, make on any defiant country that is considering producing weapons that will destroy, not only masses - but any people simply because they are not of their belief system, could be to cut off their food supplies. Not cut back and only send enough for their "armies" and leaders, but cut back enough so that none of the people could threaten us or our allies.

Do I think it is okay to starve a people? Probably not. But, I don't think it is a great thing to continue to feed and support people who hate us and would love to see all Americans (or other nationality/religion) dead or in slave captivity. And, I hate to let some of you in on the secret, but they hate the more liberal Americans just as much as they do the rightwing Americans.

Neither, I think it was Sun Tzu that said that if you kill the general you end the battle. Such things can be done through politics.

I doubt that removal from the planet, ie nuking would do anything. I severely doubt that the average person in Iran wants any part of what the leaders are doing.

Why should they be "removed once and for all from the planet!"???

Do you really think that just because we don't agree with someone or some country that we should just wipe them out?

And if so, how long will it be before others decide to wipe us out?

Diplomacy is the key...finding that common ground where we can all live together.
For all Iran's' saber-rattling, they don't want Islamic extremists any more than we do.

The world will try to call their bluff but because they are driven by religious fanatics there is no way of knowing which way they will go . Maybe you are right. Keep in mind though its the leadership not the common people who are the fanatics. It has similarities to Afghanistan.

They don't have "different" beliefs. Their religion is shared by many outside of the Iranian border. Removing them from the planet would be inhumane. I believe they should be sanctioned and I believe they should be (and most likely are) monitored closely by the U.N.
