If you open up the case, you will see a large heat sink on the motherboard with a fan top of it, underneath the heat sink is the processor.....

It is located on the motherboard. Opening up your desktop PC case, there is a large printed circuit board screwed onto the case. CPU is usually the largest component on the motherboard and usually with a small heat sink and fan on it.

the fastest way to identify one is by the Fan ..

Really just look for a fan. If you can open up a computer look for a 3 inch by 3 inch (im estimating) fan moving. Below that is a chip that contains you CPU.
