No an opinion can't be true or false because it's a subjective idea, a preference. You may disagree with it and have your own opinion about it but everyone's opinion is true for them. In my opinion, cats are the most beautiful creatures on the planet but you may not like cats & would call me silly.
An opinion can be misguided, politically incorrect, even downright offensive, but that doesn't make it inherently true or false. Opinions are not facts & everyone realizes that.
In yahoo answers, most of the answers are opinions (at least in the philosophy section, since all of philosophy is opinion anyway) so you couldn't say that they were true or false. People judge them based on whether they agree with the opinion or whether it's well-stated.
Anyway, that's just my opinion!

Like one of the respondents, there are people who believe that truth and falsehood are entirely relative and therefore "everyone has a right to an opinion" and all opinions are equally valid and so I can ignore nature.
The problem is that true and false can be defined as "matching the conditions of the world" and thus an opinion may be tested as matching the world. When someone says, "The ice caps are melting too fast" and someone else says, "That is just your opinion and I don't think so." a test is possible. When one person has looked at conditions for a long time, or simply looked at lot of examples, their opinion is going to be a lot more valid (true) than someone who pipes up.
People latch on to words and redefine them and build a case of opinion that is not valid. If the Theory of Evolution were called the Rules of Evolution, it would mean the same to a scientist, but those people who claim that Theory means it is unproven would be less able to build their molehills of speculation on it. The Bible Old Testament is the opinions of primitive people to explain what they guessed might have happened. Either it is science and subject to change or it is myth and doesn't reflect nature at all.

Because opinions are personal evaluations and interpretations and no facts, they will always be subjective statements, until proven true or false. In this case it would not be called anymore an opinion, but a fact

The fact of the matter is that opinions are never "true or false". It is a matter of opinion that, to me, George Washington was our greatest president. It is a matter of fact that Washington was our first president. The first statement can't be proven right or wrong. The second statement can be proven correct.

Truth and falsehood are determined by subjective opinion themselves, so really there's nothing inherently true or false anyway, things just are

opinions are what someone believes, eg my opinion is that Thierry Henry is the best football player in the world. This is not a fact because he is not currently ranked the best. but it is what i believe. Opinions are what someone thinks they can often be contradicted by the proven facts

There is no such thing as being true or false. There are only opinions. Take for example, you say "He ran 11.8 mph" although it might be true I may say "No, I believe that he jogged 11.8 mph" You see, no such thing as a true or false statement.

Wouldn't it depend on being based on facts or fiction? For instance, if I have the opinion, that Caucasians in the US have on average the better education and higher salaries, then the other races, I would be wrong, because the fact is, Asians do.
