My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a few months now. This month I am 3 days late for my period, so I took a pregnancy test and it was neg on the 1st missed day!!! In the directions for the test it stated that I could pee in a clean container and dip the test in the urine if I did not want to pee straight on the test - so i peed in a styrofoam cup and dipped the test in for a few sec like the directions said. It came back NEG! i told a friend of mine about this and they said that styrofoam would alter the test results! Is this true? Should I retake a test anyway? Please help

I have never heard of that altering your test results sounds like to me that she wants you to have a baby. I got my first positive from a Styrofoam cup. Good Luck and lots of baby dust

I have never heard of styrofoam affecting your urine. I do know that if you decide to pee in a cup to take your test, you should not let the urine sit for a while and then try to take the test. Just wait a couple more days and take the test.

Hmmmm. I don't know about the styrofoam thing. Maybe wait a day or two then just re-take it.
