Yea, so I was taking my dog Kilo out this morning and I opened up the garage door and he got to the trash and ate raw chicken that had been sitting there all night before I could get it out of his mouth. He was on a leash but he just got under the garage door before I could. I'm kind of worried about salmonella. I'm waiting for the vet to call me back to see if he could possibly have salmonella poisoning from the raw chicken. Has anyone's dog ate raw chicken and what did you do? Did your pet get sick and if so what do you reccomend I do, besides taking him to the vet? I will probably take him when I get off work tonight.

I would just observe him for abnormal behavior, vomiting etc.

If he gets sick then have him checked out otherwise you are wasting time and money.

He will probably be fine just watch him and make sure he doesn't start having loose stool. My dog got into what hunters had left behind in the woods after they gutted a deer. He ate grass like I had never seen a dog eat grass before ( he was like a cow) vomited several times and then was fine.

Dogs will eat anything,I swear!! Give your dog plain organic yogurt three times a day for the next five days then twicw a week after that. The good bacteria in the yogurt will help kill any bad bacteria in your dogs system. Also try replacing half of your dogs food with greenbeans for the first few days. The greenbeans will help clean out his system.

Don't panic - he should be okay. He may vomit it all back up in a bit.
