As I believe it is impossible for one party to wholly represent your beliefs and interests, I would be interested in hearing - from people on both sides - which policy or issue from THE OTHER SIDE appeals to you. This, of course, does not mean that you are switching allegiance, but surely...there must be something that the other side says which speaks to you...

I am a republican that agrees with some issues that my party in general does not.

1. A woman's right to choose. The decisions that I make are between me and my God. I take responsibility and will have to make an accounting for them all on judgment day. Let he who is without sin cast the first STONE.

2. Prostitution should be legalized. It is happening it has always happened. Lets make it safer and because I'm a capitalist at heart lets turn it into a corporation and TAX it.

3.I don't care who sleeps with who as long as they are all consenting adults.

I am not a Republican or Democrat, but rather an independent. I am conservative though. A none conservative issue which interests me is abortion. I am pro-choice. I don't like abortion as a practice, but I don't feel I have the right to dictate what others can do with their bodies.

I agree that it is impossible for one side to completely represent all the views of most people. This is because we do not exist in a vacuum. Those who are willing to swallow the party line completely are committing a disservice onto themselves. By choosing a party many feel predisposed to vote for that party's candidates. This is why I am an independent. I like having the flexibility to look at all candidates honestly and hopefully be able to choose the one who best represent my interests.

Very good question! From an Independent who finds the Democratic party more appropriate, I applaud the Republican party only when it comes to believing that life exists at conception, and a moral nation should protect that life. Unfortunately, after looking at their platform and detailed record, it seems like they don't do much walk to support the talk. They do appoint Supreme Court Judges that are conservative, and there is some talk about over-turning Roe v Wade. Have more points along that line, but think no one really interested.

Saying and doing are two different things. While I favor the right to life stance of the Republicans I realize that is won't work. If a woman wants an abortion she will have one in a back alley or a clinic but she will have one. We tried to legislate morality with prohibition and all that did was give rise to organized crime and people dying due to horrible stuff put into home made hooch. So to summerize, I am pro-life but vote pro-choice because of what I mention above.

I like the idea of tax breaks for middle and lower income groups they need every penny, often just to survive. But money has to be spent wisely. If we overspend we need to tax to make up for the overspending.

Actually the Democratic party has, from its inception, been for smaller federal government and our party does seem to cut back after each Republican government before it. The Republicans talk smaller government but they only talk the talk they don't walk the walk

I am a republican as far as voting is concerned because of the fact that they have in my personal opinion more items that I agree with then democrats.
I read something that said how around half of the population of the U.S. is independent as far as views on various issues.
I disagree with the trickle affect, and the way that the war is currently going, however that does not mean that I don't support our troops, or the old Iraqi regime.

As a Democrat, I am really taken by the fiscally conservative ideas represented by many Republicans, though not this government who has blown the government up to never before seen size and destroyed the budget.

Yes there are, As a christian, I don't believe in the death penalty. But I don't understand how democrats can be so anti-death penalty yet be fine with abortion. That doesn't make sense to me on either side.

Now let me guess, he asked for our opinion, I gave my opinion. But some of you out there are going to rate my opinion as wrong just because your opinion is different.

WOW no one has so far. I think I found a question with all intelligent answeres from both sides. Thank you Repubs and Dems

hassle is you (and others such as you) might relatively hire an unlawful immigrant from the abode Depot parking zone for $25 and don't care that for the time of doing so as that American born homeless guy would not get a wager for a job and the unlawful immigrant would not earn sufficient to feed his family contributors and has to place self belief in Social provider classes and nutrition stamps. then you definately scream your heads off suitable to the value of the Social centers which permits households stay to tell the story your "funds saving" strategies used to feather your person nests.

I'm a democrat and like the idea of limited government. The problem arises when the parties try to decide which areas of government to limit.
