Homemade wins hands down. Store bought tastes artificial.

depends on who made the cakes doesn't it. If you were talking about my wife cakes and the mass produced rubbish then it would be the cakes made by my wife's sweet hands. If you are talking about local bakeries and my wife then that would be pretty damned close. There is a bakery just down the road that makes the best Black Forrest gateau you will ever taste and that's a fact, well that's were i live in the black Forrest

Sometimes I like shop bought cake better...really depends on what the homemade cake tastes and looks like.

Yes publix makes a great cake
But I prefer my husband's Chocolate Cake

Actually, Publix supermarkets makes a really good cake. Yellow cake have them slice bananas and strawberries and place between the layers and use cream cheese frosting - Oh my goodness very very hard to beat!!

For special occasions I prefer to bake them, but for year round, every day I much rather store bought. I LOVE to bake, it just takes far more energy than I have most days. I know several people who like the store bought better. If it's a birthday, leave it to the birthday person to decide, it's their day.

I like Giant sheet cakes like none other. I would prefer a Giant sheet cake for any type of celebration.
