It's one of those secrets that is right under everyones nose, and sometimes those are the hardest ones to see because society has a way of telling people that they can't have what they want and we believe it.
An individuals own attitudes and activities pretty much decide what will be that persons station in life and it seems that "The Secret" is trying to get that across to people, and causing a controversy in the process.
Over the centuries, it has been ingrained into people that we are morally obligated to be poor. ( Is this thought causing you problems now?)
We all have a purpose in life and that purpose is to live it well. You car has a purpose, and it fulfills that purpose by functioning perfectly. Your life fulfills its purpose when you live it perfectly.
When you learn to overcome long ingrained thoughts about unworthiness and self denial it may become clear that we all deserve to fulfill our purpose

Well, sometimes we ignore the obvious.
It's no secret that it's wrong to hurt others but people still do it. It's no secret that alcohol, smoking, drugs and overeating are bad for you, but people are destroying themselves doing it.
It should be common sense to love yourself & to think positive (though this is a fact that escaped me for decades) in order to have a happy & meaningful life. But many people don't realize this. Some people are negative & self-loathing. They will go their whole lives feeling empty & worthless. They will try to fill the void with anything (money, sex, addictions) and will still feel empty. If you don't love yourself you can not ever feel fulfilled or happy.
The secret is to think positive because your thoughts have an energy & what you think & believe you start to attract. So if you are negative & self-hating you will bring about bad things in your life. If you love yourself & think positive then you attract good things. I've seen it happen in my own life recently.
It's not a secret to anyone who is a positive thinker or anyone who understands quantum physics.
Sometimes we need someone to state the obvious in a clear way. Sometimes we need someone to go on Oprah to give us a lightbulb moment to pull us out of the darkness...

Not anymore. But really, I believe everyone knew it atleast a little. They could feel it, but then they explain it better than we really knew how to with words. It's not really a philosophy. It's something people do regularly, it's just their intention makes it a philosophy. People naturally think about what they want, it's called dreaming or aspiring, people naturally avoid what they don't want to think about, it's called repression. The secret simply makes it into a process that you're actually intending to create what you create. It's a perspective world, people like to think sometimes that they're just observing what is but really quantumly, when they change the way they look at things, the things they look at change.

By definition, a secret is some confidential stuff or incident or phrase kept hidden restrictly by those who are involved . As soon as another party knows about it, it ceases to be a secret.

No its just obvious. What ever you apply your efforts and your focus to will eventually materialize.
Most people misunderstand the effort part and think that it is supposed to work like magic.
Then they complain and say that it didn't work.
