Dentist office's : I would have to say that the reason they put them in is because they are supposed to lower your blood pressure while you watch them. They are also supposed to be a way of relaxing. Most people are scared of the dentist therefor it is a distraction in hope's of relaxing their patient.

Chinese food : Basically would be the same thing for nice Scenery and a relaxing setting for dining. Some places I guess if you ordered the steam fish in Chinese you could be eating what once was in the tank ???? Who know's. LOL !! I try to think positive that they are there for show.

Personal choice? *shrug*

It makes patients feel more relaxed in the dentist's office, I'd wager. Chinese restaurants by and large seem to have aquariums, so I'm betting that there's a cultural aspect I'm not aware of there.

I see aquariums of various sizes in the waiting rooms of large firms, lobbies of office buildings, etc.

Well....,LOL ....Maybe if they run out of what is on the daily menu then they decide to have re enforcements to back up the food chain ,now in regards for the dentist offices , maybe it just reminds them of what can happen towards individuals that lack proper dental Hygiene!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!
