African lions are far far bigger than Siberian tigers, you just generally don't get to see them on them the same scale at the same time...ie on tv or in the wild.

the adult siberrian tiger is bigger than the african tiger and it has earned a reputation for being ambush predators.
other than that unlike the lion it hunts alone. so it takes more energy to bring down a large prey.
so it is likely that it has stronger forquarter.
