Your PS should have told you this at your preop or postop appointments.

Dissolving stitches can take a long time to go away. I had them and it took a few months.

Dressings come off when they are ready to, mine came off about two or three weeks post op. If they didn't, my PS told me to remove them myself at my one week post op appointment. But they came off by themselves.

I never had breast implants but I have had a baby. The stitches will go away on their own in about 3-6 weeks. While they are dissolving, they are closing up your wounds. Also as long as you keep your dressings clean, dry and sterile, you can take the dressings off as soon as the wound heals or it gets a scab because the scab will serve as protection. Its kinda like knowing when to take a band-aid off of a boo boo (lol). For added protection wash your hand before you change them. Keeping your dressing dry (except for medicine you put on it) will drastically reduce your risk of infection. Remember bacteria loves warm, dark, moist places. Good luck and I hope I helped you.
