chances are you got cheated in your new car. sorry! your car was probaly in a flood and what you are smelling is rotting water. you can check for flood damage by pulling the door rocker plate (small strip of metal by door) and reaching underneath carpet to look for signs of water. also look under hood at stickers labels and anything that appears with water damage.

That smell is from old, stale, dirt and mold, which accumulates in the air vents, and in my estimation, comes from keeping your car in the shade, or in a garage. This practice doesn't allow the air vents to dry out.
My car and truck set in the sun every day, and they never get that smell!
Now, you must take your car to a shop that speciallizes in restoring the interior of the car. They have chemicals they use to mask or clean up those smells, but you must specifically tell them about the odor.
If your car has the top cowl vent, it will allow things to accumulate in there, and which usually cause that condition.
If your cowl vented cover is removable, look for little screws holding it in place. Remove them and it will probably come off. Normally the wiper arms will have to be removed, too. Depends on the make and model. Just be careful---don't break the windshield!

In the event of water damage, especially in the hot weather, there is a very good chance of mildew forming. Besides having an awful smell, mildew has the capability of staining fabric, and anything light colored, like beige, white, pink, yellow, baby blue, etc.
If you are trying to remove the smell, there are a few methods you can try:
1) soak a small, natural sponge in white vinegar, squeeze it out lightly, and place it as close to the source of the odor, or even inside the vent where the air is blowing.
2) If it is possible to get to the source of the odor, so you can clean it, soap and water won't be strong enough. Use an older scrub pad and Soft Scrub, to start with. It might well get rid of some of the stain. If the area is hidden, you might want to go over it with Clorox. Bleach kills mildew.
If the area will be seen, and the fabric or vinyl might be bleached and ruined, Soft Scrub, followed by white vinegar will almost do the same job.

The tubes are clog is one of my guess. Change the Cabin air filter, in most of the car, it is located behind the glove box.
