What should I fill it with? I was thinking either hard candy (like the ribbon candy from Christmas) or a kind of pain pill I could really use right now.

actually why not mix it up
some pain pills AND candy
it will look nice with all the colour
and taste great with all the candy
and work for what its worth

Sorry you're hurtin love. I have a suggestion. Sit down with a small pad and write out a whole bunch nice things you would (and can) do for yourself. One to a note sheet. Things that make you happy, like maybe feeding the wild birds or going shopping or whatever. Fold each one and put them in the jar. Then, every time you're feelin "down" take out one of the notes and do whatever it is on the note. Label your jar "Happy Pills". God bless.

Hard candy is less addictive. You could use it for change and when it gets full, treat yourself to something.

hard candy then it can stay on display but painkillers cant, they're safer in the bathroom cabinet! candy looks nicer too! xx
