You see, what we're actually trying to do here is, we're trying to get a feel for how people spend their day at work... so, if you would, would you walk us through a typical day, for you?

My days are really quite hectic. Usually, I'm involved to some extent with the TPS reports. If I'm not working on those, I might be moving my desk, up against the wall, to accommodate more people in the office. Otherwise, I might be in the process of moving my desk down into the basement, where I might also find myself taking care of the ongoing bug problem.

I was told I could listen to my radio, at an acceptable volume.

When I'm not doing that, you may see me roaming around the office mumbling to myself, looking for my red Swingline Stapler.

Just recently, there was an office birthday celebration for one of my coworkers. Unfortunately, there was some glitch in the distribution of cake and I was left out of enjoying that.

So, I returned to my desk down in the storage area, where I hatched a plan to set the office on fire.

Wake up at 6:30. Get to work at 8:30. An hour to Manhattan. Answer phone all day. So I do nothing. Spend 8 hours browsing the net, writing in journal, talking to my boyfriend. Gets boring but I'd rather this than be busy and stressed. Leave at 5:30, go to gym on Tues and Thurs. Home, shower, sleep by 10:30. Wednesdays are chill nights where I get together for dinner with my girls. Like tonight, chicken wings and beer night with the ladies, woo hoo! (Then I pay for it with 2 hours at the gym tomorrow) Cant wait til 5:30 =D

Gee have we got enough room on here to tell you what i may get upto in my day ? lol
I work as a paramedic, so every day is different.
When we start at 8 am we have to check the ambulance , making sure everything is ready and we are fully stocked up.
Then we wait for the phone to go... to send us out to a job.
We can be sitting watching telly or reading a book for hours somedays , but other days we are out on the road all day transporting people to and throw. And we might get a quick coffee and a bite to eat when ever we have a spare 5 minutes. Our shift ends at 8 pm hopefully... but if we are working then we have to keep working till we are finished that particular job, and then we take it in turns to go home on-call, that means we take an ambulance with us so if anyone wants us we can respond any time during the night , as they dont have a 24 hour station in all the country areas. When I get home I have to do the usual house work things like cook a meal and feed the pets, and get the uniform ready for the next day...maybe i need a maid lol
then we have to start our day shift once again at 8 am and do it all over again.. for 4 days on duty, then we get 4 days off.
So what is your day like Bob ??

Haha. I wake up at 6:45am. Take a shower and head to work. I must be in by 7:30am. I sit at my desk all day til 3:30pm on the computer because I am in the IT dept. Until I get a call for help, I just go on ebay or yahoo answer. At 3:30pm. I go to the gym for one hour and then eat dinner at 5:30pm and wait for my boyfriend to get out of work. After that we are in bed by 8:00 and watch tv til 10:00pm. Then the same crap Monday thru Friday. Sometimes I hate my life and wish I was someone else. But it could be worst. I wish that I could travel instead of an office job.

I come in through the side so no one sees that I'm almost 45 minutes late. Then I go to the bathroom and take a 30 minute dump. Then I go to my desk and stare at a few reports. I'm not really doing anything, but I look busy. I'd say I do that for at least an hour or so. Then I might pump out a few actual reports. Then its lunch time. After lunch I stare at some reports for another good hour and then go take 20 minute piss. After that I usually will head out through the back at around 3:30. Keep in mind this is only when I actually make it into the office because sometimes I just don't feel like coming in.

Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh heh - and, uh, after that I just sorta space out for about an hour.

Yeah, I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

Office Space is the best movie!!!! I guess a lot of people think you actually want to know what their typical day is. Hilarious.

Well, I generally come in at least 30 minutes late, and I "forget" to clock in..that way the dept. manager won't know that I pad my hours, heh heh - and, uh, after that I just sorta space out for about an hour, then I check (personal) email, yahoo answers, and monster.com (My job blows)

Yeah, I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about 60 minutes of real, actual, work.
