Yesterday, I interview for a Environmental Manager position with Sodexho USA...a large food and environmental service company that I've previously worked for over 5 years. In my incumbent position, I work morning hours from 8am-4pm as a Project Manager for Wachovia and oversee environmental concerns within 5 sites from Greenville county to Mrytle Beach. I have been with my current company for almost 2 years and now operate on a month to month contract. Currently, there are no complaints or issues pending and all is well. Except I feel that there is little room for promotion in my current company and I currently work without benifits such as 401k and medical insurance...My wife's job insures the family so I've declined the heath benefits package for a company car. Last but not least, the new job offer offers a slight pay increase and requires me to work 2nd shift, but I know the opportunity for growth and promotion is great! My wife is flexible and supports my decision.

it is great that you have a wife to support you. I think that if you want more from what you are doing or require more challenges then you need to seek which one would be better. You do need to make sure that you have the things you need to fall back on like insurance etc...

Good luck

My experience working with driven people such as yourself is that their focus and performance decline if they're bored and unchallenged. That's an important reason to consider a move because it sounds like the new job has potential to be more fulfilling for you.

This is not an easy decision. When faced with tough decisions like this... I get the input of others and go with my gut. Never discount gut feeling.
