the desktop is just another folder in your harddisk. at ms dos prompt, you can do a dir and go into something like [docum~1] folder.

in msdos, u cannot see the full path, it will cut off at 8 char for filenames and 3 char for file extension. unless ur msdos is from winxp, i guess u might be able to see long filenames (corret me if i'm wrong)

the path should be ---> C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Desktop

You could you would have to do this within command prompt:

cd cd: C:/Documents and Settings//Desktop

Start your DOS session or emulator, which ever you have.
CD to your profile and enter the subdirectory named 'Desktop'
