kitoffbeardon69..... Lampard 53 England appearances 12 goals, Rooney 37 England appearances 12 goals so your strike rate point, I don't understand. I'm not bothered about Premiership stats here its the national team I'm discussing. And I read the Telegraph, Daily Mail and Daily Mirror and base my judgement solely on watching Englands midfield when they play, not on what journos write!

If this is the case, I am in two minds. Yes, it is good to see a balanced midfield, and Gerrard given licence to maraud further upfield having been liberated from defending.
However, Andorra will probably defend in depth and sling about 8 players across the penalty area. The result, very little space for the strikers, so the goals will probably come from midfield runners, and that is where Lampard comes in very handy.
All things considered though, no you are not hoping for too much. England should win if they play properly, and stop doddering around with pointless backwards and sideways passes.

Although he does have a stress fracture of his wrist, I think shredded-wheat head Mclaren, has bowed down to player pressure. It will bring a more competitive balance to the team as a whole, purely because of using two wingers. But why not Sean Wright-Philips instead of Downing!?.
Anyway, I still think they only pick managers who say yes sir, no sir, three-bags-full sir, to the Neanderthal F.A.!
They are the ones who need changing.
Players should come through the ranks, into coaching, management, then as advisers to an English Committee!.
After years of experience, they could pick players without a problem of being wrong. Just like an old-experienced head in the plumbing trade for example, they see automatically what should be done- and not argue for days with about the right thing to do.
Alas!, is Big Sam still in with a shout?.

Can i just say im a Spurs fan, but i bear no grudge to any Chelsea players. BUT!.... Lampard is useless, he throws the balance of the team out and better players than him have been warming the bench for England and i don't understand it at all. Get Gerrard in his central role, get Hargreaves or Carrick in their best positions and stick King Aaron Lennon on the right, Gareth Barry on the left... Job done, 3 points tonight in Spain!

lets hope he dies. Lampard is an average player and does not deserve to wear the England shirt. Give kevin nolan a chance. Theres no need to risk the likes of hagreaves against a team that wouldnt beat Torquey united let alone even have a glimmer of hope against england.
Plus hargreaves is on his way to Man Utd so he shud not be risked.

Yippee - Hooray - Hallelujah - I am doing backflips around my living room in joy at this wonderful news - about time to - now lets get rid of McClaren as well and all will be rosy.
Come back Sven - all is forgiven (I'm joking by the way)
All we need to do now is make Berbatov an English National and we'll be laughing

leave off Frank... you are obviously a tabloid reader....he scores vital goals, and has a better strike and goal per matches ratio than Rooney!
The problem is managers that are appointed that are clueless about how to blend a team of the most gifted players we have seen in years.
If Gerrard and Lampard can't play together why would Mourinho try to sign him twice?... the only thing unbalanced is McClowns comb over !!!!

its simple...
gerrard and lampard playing central partnership doesn't work, because they're both attacking midfielders.
