I was wondering ...how many people had a gut feeling that they were going to have a boy or a girl and happened to be correct in their thoughts? As it looks I am not going to be able to find out whether or not my child is a boy or a girl....I have a 75 % gut feeling it's a boy, how many people would say my gut feeling has value?

I have two sons. While carrying my youngest, my gut feeling was it might be a girl but I was wrong.

In my profession, I must have delivered more than a thousand babies. And one thing I noticed about these pregnant women, most of them have different gut feelings for each sex. If their baby boy acted a certain way while in the womb, the next baby of the opposite sex would act differently. And most often than not they are right 90 %.

I must be an exemption to the case.

Which ever sex it may be, as long as it's healthy, I guess that's all that matters.

By the way, if your gut feeling is wrong and it turns out to be a girl. Can I have it?? Hehehehh. Just joking. Peace.

I think gut feelings about the sex of the baby do have merit. But in my case it wasnt my gut it was my husbands. I had no clue what we were having but my husband insisted from day 1 it was a boy. At 6 mos his aunt did a sonogram for us b/c she is a radiologist at our local hospital and sure enough there "it" was. There are lots of old wives tales too about how to tell, though most people dont believe them, a lot actually are true with me. They say if you carry low its a boy and my belly is not round its pear shaped he is so low, also they say the fetal heart rate of a boy is lower and mine has been around 130-135 (range is 125-165). To me though of course the most important thing is that he is health. (Although I super excited that its a boy) So I wouldn't necessarily base the color of the nursery and the type of clothes you buy now on your gut but a woman's intuition is rarely wrong! Good luck and Congrats!

Okay girl let me tell you about MY STORY!! and my GUT FEELING!!! well in my family my mom had "2 boys, and 2 girls" and my boyfriends side, his mom had "3 boys and 1 girl" so therefore more chance of me getting a "BOY". Then my sister has had 2 kids and there both "boys". Those are the only babies in my family. Then... "EVERYONE" has told me "your having a boy" "I know your having a boy"! and blah blah!..even like friends that dont know anything about my family history has told me "I think its a boy" "I know your gonna have a boy" ... Then besides all that, my gut feeling since I got pregnant was that "IT WAS A BOY"..I would take those stupid little fake gender prediction test online and they would say" Congrulations your having a boy" ...lol! ...Oh and by the way, I WANTED A GIRL SOOOO BAD it would make me SAD cuz my gut feeling had me convinced that it was a boy... I went to the ultra sound and found out it was a GIRL!!!!! SO NOTHING CAN PREDICT THE GENDER besides the REAL ULTRA SOUND!!! GOODLUCK!!!!!!!

I've had three babies...I had a gut feeling they were all boys. Just your gut! I'd say your gut has value; don't bank on it, but well as much as I wanted a girl the 2nd and 3rd time around ~I just knew they were boys and turned out to be true.

Everyone I've known to have a "gut feeling" has been wrong. I went with my best friend to her 20 week ultrasound. She was certain it was a boy. Had already bought some boy clothes. Guess what? It was a girl. You have about a 50/50 chance at being right. People will argue with me, but seriously, I've known more to be wrong than right. Best of luck.

Gut feelings do have a lot of merit. However they do have good odds of being right (50/50 last time I checked!!)

I had a gut feeling with my first pregnancy, that ended in miscarriage at 15 weeks. I was sure it was a little girl, however I never found out for sure. We gave her a girls name, and still refer to her as she. Strange but true!

My second pregnancy I found out quite late on (22 weeks) and never really got a chance to think about the sex, I was too busy coping with the idea that I was pregnant to think about that! Just a week after I found out I had the scan and found out the sex. My partner was *sure* of a boy this time, and I kind of agreed with him. However, my daughter is now four months old and definitely a girl!!!

We did have a few panics close to her birth date though - I became convinced in the last two weeks that if I had no boys name as back-up, she'd be a boy just to spite me! (Sod's law!) So we finalised a boy's name real quick!

Still it'll do for our son, whenever he decides to join our family in the years to come!

Congratulations on your pregnancy, boy or girl, I hope you are both healthy and get everything you desire!

Well, I was so sure I was having a boy, I only bought things for a boy when I first found out. Luckily when the ultrasound time came, he spread his legs wide open, sure enough I was having a boy. I think your gut feeling is usualy right, but if you don't plan on knowing the sex for sure, it is best to stick with yellows and greens just to be safe.

I absolutely say your gut feeling has value. I knew I was having two boys (I was right) even though everyone said my second was a girl, because my pregnancy was so different than my first.

Good luck!
