Back when hip hop was getting started into the late 80s, the beat/drum machine was the 808 (popular choice).
Since then, technology has gotten sophisticated therefore making the 808 obsolete.
She was using that as analogy AND putting Too Short on the song, too, which he's from the 80s, too.
