i've come up into my spare room where my computer is, and it's like a bomb site! my ironing board is in here and all my ironing ( i don't do piles of ironing, i just iron what i need every morning ) so there's clothes everywhere, tubs full of paperwork, suitcases and bits of paper from my kids all over the floor! i started tidying up and got halfway and my computer called out so i'm sat on my backside again! shall i stop answering on here and shift, or stay here 'til i pick the kids up from school at 3:15pm?

I know what you mean. Directly behind me are 5 boxes of crap I hauled out of my daughter's room. She collects everything but mostly tons of paper. The boxes have now been sitting there for a week. Every time I go to do something with them, I see the computer. Take a break and enjoy your day!

How about tackling a little bit at a time? Attack the clothes at one point, have a computer break, come back later and address the suitcases, and then save the bits of paper for the kids to clean up. Sometimes it all so overwhelming that its easier to ignore. That is, until it starts haunting your dreams.... Been there! I am currently addicted to a puzzle game called tiki drop. I keep coming back to the computer to play when there are LOADS of other things to take care of...

It's hard to keep going when it is a big messy project. You could enlist the help of your kids so that the task doesn't seem so overwhelming. Even if it is just a little help (you know how kids are these days). Also if you just do a little bit each day then it will eventually got done and you won't get so frustrated.

Sod it. Stay on here! The mess will still be waiting for you to tidy it tomorrow....
I don't iron unless I need the clothes that day either - my life is better than wasting hours every day ironing!

I hate ironing so when my clothes are dry I put them on hangers & straight into the wardrobe it keeps them from cluttering up the place. When needed get out & iron.

I have the same dilemma!
I everyday try to decide ......
housework?
my sewing project(which has deadline!)
garden/yardwork?
All I could say is turn down the volume that way you can't hear untill you are there and want to be on Q&A
I turn it down so I can get some sleep, isn't this crazy?

I would go shopping, have a swim at the local pool, pick the kids up, cook their tea & make them tidy up!
