I'm not sure I believe in reincarnation but if it's possible I would think the whole point is to have a different life experience each time. You'd never get to have the same family & friends...although you would stay the same soul inside & perhaps you would be drawn to familiar souls (though you wouldn't remember your former lives). This would explain the phenomena of soulmates or people that from the moment you first meet it feels like you've known each other before...ok maybe I do believe in reincarnation!

Though I don't believe in reincarnation, I'd have to say different person but same family and friends. I love my family and friends, they are the best in the world, plus I've always wanted to change my personality (it's one of those weird in-your-face ones)

Today, the accepted idea of reincarnation is a misinterpretation of a subtle doctrine found in ancient sacred texts. They do not say that 'you' or 'I' goes from body to body.

Buddha clarifies beautifully:

"There is rebirth of character,
but no transmigration of a self.
Thy thought-forms reappear,
but there is no egoentity transferred.
The stanza uttered by a teacher
is reborn in the scholar who repeats the words."

Reincarnation is forced until perfection is reached. Family & friends are but the circumstances in which we are placed. We need not believe in circumstances. As has been said by the Swami Vivekanand, "The man who believes in himself and not the circumstances is the real winner."
