If it's older, it might be a USB 1.1 hub. More likely though, is that the two devices are drawing too much power for one usb port to handle. If the devices can be powered by plugging into the wall, then that will solve the problem. Otherwise, you need to get a powered usb hub. It will plug into the wall and power your devices that way instead of trying to pull the power through the usb port.

When you say 'can't hold' I'm guessing you mean the two devices don't work rather than they simply won't plug in....

Anyway, the two main reason will be 1) there's not enough power going to the two devices, in which case you'll need to buy a hub with it's own power supply or b) the devices you're using are USB 1 and therefore don't have their own serial numbers and so your computer is unable to tell which device is which

To many usb devices installed.....its best to use a hub that has its own power supply to prevent this type of problem....

the hub is damaged , or the usb port does not support USB 2.0 , it may be USB 1.1
