If you have not heard 15 sailors were seized by Iran as they were conducting operations in Iraqi waters about a week and a half ago. The sailors were in an inflatable craft and were confronted by six Iranian vessels.
Iran gave coordinates of where the sailors were seized and it turned out to be 1.7 miles into Iraqi waters...then they changed their coordinates and the new location was 0.3 miles into Iranian waters.
What should England do about it? Does Iran have a basis to hold the sailors? What if it were Iranian sailors getting too close to U.S. waters?

interesting question. questions i should say. timely too. but there is no answer --because we do not know the facts. except that we know it is "cheap and dirty politics" -- that could mess up the region. look at the facts -- from a distant but logical point of view -- a. 15 sailors could do nothing, absolutely nothing to Iran b. even if there were in the Iran-ian territory -- they were not caught smuggling or what not -- simply trespassing. c. millions of people do that every year -- it is stupid for any nation to be over-sensitive about the issue d. what Iran wants is to be in the news -- every single day, if not for wanting to wipe out a nation -- for showing a British woman with a scarf -- what a non-sense e. hope good contacts and diplomacy will resolve the issue -- it is as stupid as it sounds and ...i leave the rest to your good senses.

What would happen if Russian sailors were lingering about in American territory or vice versa. This was a criminal act of aggression by the Brits who still beleive that 'Brittania rules the waves' and they sent their navy in to Iranian territory to provoke an Iranian responce. The Iranians should not release these sailors untill a full apology is made and Britain promises to respect Iranian sovereignty. On countless occasions during the troubles in Ireland, British forces were arrested in the South of Ireland where they claimed that they had crossed the border ny accident. The Southern Authorities for the spineless cowards they were always released the Brits even though i Brit and Loyalist units were involved in assassinations of Irish Republicans in the border areas, assassinations such as those of Eddie Fullerton and Peter Cleary. Anyone who has any doubts that the Brits were up to no good by trespassing into Iranian territory only need to look at their behaviour along the Irish border

Not sure what to think of this situation. Some British soldiers were caught passing as "insurgents" in Iraq and were broken out of an Iraqi jail a few months ago. Right now, we're hearing what the English media is saying and I like to hear both sides before making up my mind.
Muslim countries have been demonized so often, I find whatever is intially said about them suspect. Iran has been insisting it's nuclear program is peaceful, but yet "everyone and their mother" is saying they're building nuclear weapons without proof. The same was said about Iraq in February 2002, headed by GEN Powell.

I think Iran is attempting to provoke something. Why, I haven't yet figured out. They must think that whatever they provoke will not be sufficiently severe to oust themselves from power. They must figure that at worst the west will bomb nuclear facilities and other infrastructure, but leave the government intact. Then they can blame the west for starting it all. Then maybe they can launch at Israel? That seems to be Iran's main goal. Get rid of Israel.

Total hidden agenda. Iran is up to something and it has nothing to do with England... It worries me! Did you read the Ahmadenijad Newsweek article? They asked him 3 times why he said that he wanted to "Wipe Isreal off the face of the Earth" and all three times he didn't even come close to answering the question asked. I don't trust that guy one bit. Anyone that uses religion to rule their deadly actions is misusing it.

I am perplexed with Iran's stupidity. What do they expect to gain I wonder, except trouble? This is an example how skirmishes begin and are likely to grow to another stupid war. Man will always be Man...the imbecile of creation!!!
