Since it was a full-grown golden lab, once he got the woman down on her back and started jumping on her chest...yeah it's possible. I do doubt that he "knew" he was doing the heimlich on her as the article stated, but the end result was the same...thank goodness.

I know many a dog that also knows how to perform this maneuver, I worry more about the dog that lets you die because you can't pay his fee up front.

I don't see why not. Ofcourse he couldn't have wrapped his little puppydog arms around his owner, but if his owner was on the floor the dog could have easily jumped on the owner which would have removed the blockage.

So i say yes...it's possible.

sure, if it is heavy enough...i doubt the Taco Bell dog will be doing that anytime soon....perhaps that dog was trained in lifesaving techniques before she got him :) I am glad everything turned out ok!
