Have you ever heard of any of the Gods? Do you know any story? Of course, there is internet, but I wonder how much do you really know without visiting sites? Anything? (Especially those from non-Slavic countries)

What got me inspired to dig into our Slavic pagan mythology was a tattoo of a Slavic guy who had some muscular Scandinavian warrior (of whom he said was not a Nordic god). He would rather put some Chinese sign too… This is trendy stuff (which comes along with the globalization concept :P), and does give a picture of how our own Slavic pagan mythology has lost its place in our today’s society, while we are delighted with alien gods, Lord of The Ring clones, PC games with such themes, etc. I say there is no better tattoo than that of a pagan motive. In wiki, we can find some opportune symbols.

You can find enough information on the web, but happens that some information I found is contradictive. In wiki you read that Veles, Triglav, Kornat, etc. are gods, while in other sources they are giants who had some fight with gods and lost. Thus, they have fallen to create the landscape... (There reason why these geographic names appear, along with the more preserved pagan folklore, in Croatia and not Serbia, is historical.)

Everybody here has heard of werewolves and vampires… They come from Slavic mythology. The Slavs were omnipresent in the today's Hungarian and Romanian territories, as they migrated toward the south...

In Serbia, the pagan names are found in personal names, like: Bojana (victory), Vesna (spring), Perun (thunder), etc. Vesna is a nice name, though perhaps not as popular as it was.

There is a story that the Serbs kept their pagan ways in Orthodox Religion, through saints and customs, but paganism has been swept away as Serbs strongly embraced the Orthodox Religion.

Mythology: most of the time conventional tale of ostensibly historic parties that serves to spread facet of the sector view of a humans or provide an explanation for a train, notion, or common phenomenon. There are countless Pagan religions which can be nonetheless practiced, that's in which the myths got here from no longer the wrong way.

I've heard of 'Rod', but of all the European mythologies and spiritualities, I'm least familiar with Slavic.

This is embarrassing but I have to admit - I don't know anything. Actually, I would appreciate if someone would send some good links or books so I can educate myself.
