1. Yankee's fans are terrible, and they think so highly of themselves.
2. Derek Jeter is a good player, but he is not deserving of the MVP race every year. Probably not ever.
3. Alex Rodriguez puts up top 10 fantasy numbers every year, but he is not good enough for NYC.
4. Their fans.
5. ESPN gives the Yankees the benefit of the doubt in every situation every time ever.
6. Their greatest higlight of the last 10 years was a farse. The "Flip" play...Giambi was safe at home tie goes to the runner. Watch it and tell me Im wrong.

To be honest, I was once a Yankees-hater, too. I've been a fan of the Atlanta Braves my whole life...grew up in Richmond, Va watching the Richmond Braves - the Triple A farm team of the Atlanta Braves - play every time they were in town. As the rivalry between the Braves and the Yankees heated up in the mid-nineties, I grew to hate the Yankees even though I knew nothing about them other than what I'd heard from other Yankees-haters.
Then, in 1998 I retired from the Air Force and moved to New Jersey to be with the woman I later married. I moved to a town that was a mere 16 miles from New York City and the Bronx, and the woman I was with was a lifelong Yankees fan who had been going to games in Yankee Stadium since she was 7. Actually, it was the 1996 World Series that introduced us...we met in an online chat room in January '97 talking about the series, and things developed from there!
But I digress...back on topic.
I promised my lady that I would give the Yankees a chance, and I did. We went to my first Yankees game in the Bronx that weekend, and I quickly became a Yankees fan. I'm still a Braves fan - I'm one of those strange people that think it's possible to be a fan of more than one team in the same sport - but I'm a Yankees fan, too. There's no other team in baseball that has the history they do, nor the record of wins. I mean, face it - no other team in baseball has won 26 World Championships. You don't do that by simply paying big money for players - the Mets tried that in 2003 and it failed miserably. The Yankees have won the most World Series because they consistently hire good managers and good players, and have the strategy to bring them both together and mold them into a winning team. Sure, Steinbrenner is a pompous, arrogant jackass, but he's got a winning team on his hands.
I'll be the first to admit that Yankees fans are a very tough crowd - if the team displeases them, they will absolutely let the team know! But even when they're mad at the team, you'll still get your butt kicked if YOU talk bad about the Yankees! The fans can be even more pompous and overbearing than Steinbrenner can, but you gotta admit that when you've got a team with the record that the Yankees have, you can afford to brag. (Are you paying attention, Boston fans? Once in 86 years does NOT a dynasty make!)
I guess the old saying is true that you either love the Yankees or you hate them. There just doesn't seem to be a middle ground!
But now that I'm living in South Carolina, I pay more attention to the Braves than I do the Yankees! Should be interesting when the two teams play each other in the Series again.....

Everything. They think they're the best team, and they're extremely cocky. When the Tigers played them last year ( I live in Michigan ) I was disgusted at how in the first game when the Yankees were up 5-0, there were signs that said the Tigers would be going home. I'm glad the Yankees got what they deserved.

I agree with you. But what really irrtates me is the constant media coverage. Do they really think everyone outside the Northeast really cares everytime A-Rod or Jeter opens their mouth. Or that after the World Series the 1st yanks-sox game is only 200days away.
Ok I've vented and hopefully made some since but I problably just rambled incoherently.

I dont hate the Yankees but I find it funny they spend significantly more money than any other team and they dont win it. I am a Detroit fan and I like the fact my team spends under $100 million and NY spend over $200 and out of 50 games, Detroit would win 35

You know that as in life, in sports it happens that there is rich and poor. The Yankees are the reachest team in sports discipline in the whole world, and they have money to buy any player, but what I hate is the quantity of player they frustrate every year, who can develop playing more regularly, and because of all stars in a same team, lots of ths young talents have to seat and wait for almost none opportunities, and get also a lot of years in their minor league systems, trying to make the big team, and they just don't trade them to other teams, awaiting for them to give a big breathe in hard situations when starters get injured or something.

their disgusting demolition of americas past time. the stankees are a poster child for all that is wrong in baseball. they drive prices for players through the roof and other teams follow in suit to keep up. who pays in the end?? the fan! when payroll goes up; ticket prices, consession prices, souvenier prices all go up. the stankees will continually drive contract prices up and up until either the public cannot afford to watch them, or the "commissioner" (aka the puppit) steps in and puts a stop to it. yes the luxery tax is a good thing, but it obviously dosnt work/matter. the game needs a cap of sort, ala the NFL. it would also be nice to see non-guarenteed contracts again ala the NFL. play for pay types of deals. no more Juan Gonzalez missing 4 months of a season for an in grown toe nail, and getting paid about 10K a day to "recover".

I am a Red Sox fan, and for all intents and purposes I "should" hate everything about the Yankees players.
I do not hate the players (besides A-Rod.. How could you not hate that pompous a$$?)
I hate the uniform. I hate the aura, the "mystique" all of that garbage. The better than you attitude. I hate that.. Not the players..

Well, being that you're not a fan of new yorkers, I hate you. I'm from Queens, love the Mets, hate the Yankees, but I think I like you less than the Yankees now.

Bla, Bla, Bla!! How about qualifying your statement with some facts? Better yet, have you ever played on a world championship team? Have you ever been a world series or all star game MVP? Do you have a .317 life time batting average in the major leagues. Are you making 20 million dollars a year at your job? What is it exactly that you "hate" about the Yankees? Oops!! Times up!! Better get to work......You don't want to be late!! Remember what your boss told you to say to the customers.............."Daaahhh, you want fries wit dat?"
