They did not like the answer. I don't know what's lacking from their life, but the right to have an opinion is obviously not lacking from their life. I would assume that people who give thumbs down also give thumb up. I guess those are people who are actually reading other people's answers, how many times do we usually do that

Ill tell you why some people get the thumbs down its for a good reason. I only started using yahoo answers a few days ago and thought it was the best thing since xxx . Unfortunately I recieved a nasty abusive reply and got a bit of a shocker so yes admitidly i reported the !!!!! person.Fortunately we have lovely people who give us the thumbs up to compensate for this type of trash.Not mentioning any names Robbo31 cheers mate for being a mate xxxxxxx!

Tolerance, maturity and other things which were already stated by other answerers.
Sometimes it's just saying you're not British that will give you the thumbs down. Well, sorry for that, but I can't help where I was born, can I?
But if the person is being offensive, like Cheryl B now, they deserve as many thumbs down as they can get.

Personally I'd like to get my hands on some of the thumbs down crowd who thinks it is cute to pick on one person that I happen to love.
I can see giving thumbs down to a downright hateful answer, but that's about it... Grrrrrrr!

I answered a question once saying that we needed justice in the world to insure peace and I got a thumbs down!!!
LOL..... Who would argue with peace and justice??? ;o)
Don't pay any attention to it. It's not worth the energy your brain cells would expend.
You just watch. I promise you all answers here are going to get a bunch of thumbs downs!! LOL.... I think of them as badges of honor: a few idiots don't agree with me!! That makes my day!!! ;o)

Depends on the question you have asked. Maybe they are lacking a sense of humour, common sense, good taste or class. Could be either.

There life is probably lacking communication and attention from there friends and also knowledge from reading and learning which would state they probably went to a boarding school filled with nuns.... Then there parents probably never paid attention to them and just sent them off to there room where they didn't know what to do with all the books or the toys... Darn kids have had a rough life..

I answered a poll earlier that asked who your favorite band is, and thumbs down were flying left and right! These idiots must think we should all be listening to the same band they do!?! That would be very boring!
