Yesterday, I went to a lecture, and suddenly my foot started to "fall asleep" -- the tingly feeling you get when you haven't been moving enough. Because I was surrounded by people and chairs, I couldn't get up and move around, so is there a way to wake up your foot when you can't move it very much?

Note: It was kind of hard to move my foot, because I was sitting with one leg over the other, there were people on either side of me, and I have really long legs.

Continuously curl and uncurl your toes for starters. Then try stretching your leg as far as you can in the limited space keeping your toes on the floor (lifting your heel) and twist the whole leg from side to side keeping your butt cheek planted on the chair. The people around you will see you moving your leg, but it's better than having a foot that's asleep.

Just lift yourself slightly off your seat to release some pressure for a moment, that will restore the restricted blood flow and wiggle your foot around.

Try shifting you hips. The blood supply is likely restricted where your thigh presses on the edge of the chair.

Go 2 sleep with it. if your foot knew the lecture was boring - I'm sure the rest of you did 2.

Switch legs. I've run into this in various lectures myself.

How about starting your routine of "tap dancing". I noticed that in the movie "Happy Feet", Mumble became quite famous for "tap-dancing". But, he was a penguin. Would you mind trying it?
