Child birth is what you make it. If you keep telling yourself that it will hurt then you will notice the pain more. Yes it does hurt but only for a short while and mainly because your mind is on it and you are thinking about nithing else.
Once you're holding your baby you will forget about it all.

I would say it felt more like pressure. As for the pushing, I actively enjoyed that feeling, it was incredibly satisfying and I really can't wait to do it again.
I went into my labour completely relaxed and came out completely relaxed. I believe that is why I was able to birth at home with no pain medication, no IVs, no epidural, no birth coach, no tears, no stitches, no problems. I had a midwife there for the last 20 minutes - she arrived at 14.50 my daughter arrived at 15.11, 7.4lbs, pink and screaming.
Truly amazing, in fact I would honestly say I loved childbirth, and wouldn't use the word pain to describe it!
Good luck!

Hell yes, Although women have different degrees of pain tolerance and some women don't experience pain at all because they have opted for pain meds./epidural. But in my experience labor feels like extremely terrible cramping in the abdomen, back, lower abdomen, and tightening in the groin area, and you can feel nauseous and even vomit, your body shakes . And giving birth feels like extreme pressure in your private area like a bowling ball between your legs, intense pain, stretching, alot of burning, cramping in the legs and back, feels like the biggest bowel movement you ever had in your life. And after child birth feels like your empty inside, you feel cold, and sore from the tearing or stretching and if you need stitches, you feel tired, weak, thirsty and hungry, and you may have great cramping after you give birth if it's not your first child, but you also feel excited, happy, joyous at seeing your beautiful child. And during that time you don't even think about the pain you were in.

good question. you know how menstrual cramps feel? multiply that by a few thousand during labor. Ever seen a new born's babies head? imagine trying to squeeze that out.. so.. yes.. I would say it hurt like hell.. people say you forget the pain.. and you do..til the next time you go into labor.. LOL... I have 4 kids.. oldest is 18 now..and i still remember the pain...i never took the epidural and have never figured out why i wanted to do it natural. talk to you dr. regarding the pain meds during labor and it should be a little bit easier

Yes there is pain involved but it's a lot worse for women that expect that their labor and delivery will be painful and that they'll need pain medication. They've done studies that show that in countries where women aren't conditioned to expect their labors to be painful they don't experience as much pain and use less pain medication during labor. Also different women have different thresholds for pain and every labor and delivery is different. With that said it can be painful but there are ways of dealing with the pain.

My newborn is 1 month old today and he was more painful for me than my first. Don't get me wrong, it's not like you don't feel ANYTHING, but it's really nothing in the whole scheme of things. It's so easy now because you can get an epidural. I promise you'll be fine. It's really not bad.

Stage one is like really bad period pain. A lot of cramping. Stage two is like some one grabbing two fingers and pulling them apart really fast, only not on your hand!!! Yes it hurts and different women feel different levels of pain. Each pregnancy is different so you don't know how bad it will be until you get there.

It hurts like you would not believe!!!
However, by the next day it really doesn't matter anymore and you can start thinking about doing it again! At least that was my experience - my partner was more traumatised about if afterwards than I was and he only got slapped once.
