The room is airtight. It has two doors, and both open outwardly. The windows are shut. Now, if I enter into the room and pull the door close behind me, the other door on the opposite side opens automatically letting me pass right through the room, no problem … but then I have to come back. I do this quite often and securing hours of fun for myself. Sometimes, I also create a very spooky atmosphere by gently moving one door to forward and backward a little and watching the other door moving on its own. I recommend that you should also have such a contraption made for yourself in your home; you will love it.

when a door shuts a window opens
when aplying for a job in a big company in a big position for weeks even months and you are rejected, the door is closed but a oportunity window opens, now it is very easy to apply for a lesser position because the human reasources department is familiar with you. in comparison to a new applicant appying on the same job.

well if you believe in destiny, then when one door (oppurtunity) shut you out, then another door is always open, waiting for you to begin upon the next path that has been chosen for you. if you are like me and dont like to believe that your life is planned, then id say it means that when one page of your life is read, there is alwys another following that page, and when every chapter of your life is closed, there is always another right after it, no matter what life throws your way, there is always a window of oppurtunity in all that we go through.

It means that if a chapter in your life has ended another one will begin. Like if something bad happens and you think you can never move on from it, something good will come of the bad thing.
I guess it means don't feel so bad about the bad things that happen to you, because something better might come of it.

The saying has to do with opportunity. Whether it's in a relationship, education or the work force; may times if something you are trying to achieve doesn't work out a new or different opportunity arises.

When something not-so-great happens and a door in your life 'shuts' more possibilities are opened in your life because of it.

It can mean anything you want it to be.
When the cell door closes, the execution door opens.
So opportunity is not always the result.

Reminds me of that "Problem or Oppurtunity" game (if you can call it that) in Mind-gym .... *shrugs*
Whether a situation is for better or for worse is just a matter of perspective.
