just looked at mine ,no you can"t only a contact ???? but under the "boxes" there is a posting from yahoo stating "make network private"(disabled comming soon) ::::so may be they are putting that option in ????

I think you can set it in your profile if somebody can add you or not ..
Not sure if you can remove them but goto your profile .. Edit Settings
