I am going to buy a set of blue poi (don't ask) and I need to choose the colours for the tails. These are 6 ribbons in 3 colours, and I would like one of them to be blue in order to match the poi. What other colours would you choose?? I don't really like yellow! Thanks.

This is the poi.

i studied colour analysis in Australia I also have colour me Beautiful Book.
Do you know what season you are there are twelve categories . This will be very vital to the Shade(s) of Blue you choose and therefore its contrasts and compliments
Orange is the opposite colour on the Spectrum ,but not many people suit orange , but think of peach, dusky ,peach, apricot , dusky apricot . Also think of doing Blue on Blue two shades working dogtrot with a contrast or neutral
also think of your contrast warming Hue and shade and cooling ,
Are Burgundy wine shades attractive to you or do they not interest . i personally don't like them along with moss green, some purples and Chartreuse ,
Get some colour swatches and start experiments colour does not carry in the Eye and what I say would be Camel might be Old Gold to you
Yes colour is interesting try to be original every day I do

Different shades of blue. Or maybe a softer violet and silver or lavender? Anything formed from different primary colors would see a little garish to me. No reds or yellows or oranges. Go with something that is made from blue, a metallic color, or black/white.

blue is a cool color, any color that belongs to the cool toned area would go. ie
the cool colors:
green, teal, green blue, blue, royal blue, navy blue, violet, purple,... as well a some nutural colors can compliment the color blue.
even colours like pink and blue(cotton candy) go together in an absratct way.. not in harmony. hope this helps you out...
