What's democratic about that? Sometimes kids can make us see things in a way that most adults never can they can be very wise in their innocence if you pay attention to them. Kids also keep us civil when we realize that we are talking to them if we are any kind of decent human being at all, or if we have our own kids and understand that it might be them reading what we are saying. Sometimes I think it is easy to forget that we may be talking to kids on here and say things that we would not ordinarily say around our own kids.
The saying is respect your elders because they are wise, but that is not always so, sometimes they can be dumber then anything, they can be callous too. And many times adults will try to speak for others when they have no real life experience or idea of what they are even talking about, but because they are on some bandstand or they think it is so even if they don't know what they are talking about or have no proof of it being so. Adults may have issues of wanting to control others around them and not wanting to let their own children grow up and become adults.
It is like psychiatry in some respects, you listen to them because they are this or they are that, but they talk about things that have came out of the air and we believe it because of who they are, not what they actually know.
I stand on my own experience and knowledge, but I study excessively from others first to come to my conclusions and I ask what I want to know to see where others thinking is at first. I don't just go along to be going along most of the time. If I am wrong and I find that out, I will be the first to admit it.

Kids are Answers whole problem. 90% of the Yahoo Answers server could be wiped clean -- all the children's "I dunno" and "Yer nutz" and "thanks for the 2" answers -- and it would become a real reference site.
As it stands, Answers is just a substitute for chat and message boards. Never meant to be that, and can be so much more if they narrow membership eligibility.
