Yes, extremely expensive. The rent in early '90s was $800 a month for small Little Dinky apartments. I don't think any middle class people can afford to buy it.

I live in So Cal. I am a mortgage broker. Houses range from low $300k to millions. A good rule of thumb...the closer you are to the coast or a major city, the more expensive. Yep Horribly expensive and overpriced. Its amazing what people pay for "image". One big earthquake and say good bye to many of those property values.

Yes! I have a friend who lives down there and bought a house just south of Lauderdale for $750,000.
