no one really knows why the hostage taking took place in the bus, maybe it was easier for him to contain the kids and to control the place since he had to do it all by himself.
the demands we're good. yes he has the right to demand that from the government. but the thing there is, if one has to do some hostage taking i think the person has to ask for a more feasible demand, don't you think? i think i've been watching too much TV,hehe but it's true. that's how it is. though i symphatize with him,it was a very symbolic act of calling the government's attention to look after the problems of their people and look for effective means to provide all the basic social services of the filipino people.

He was shortcircuited between the ears.
Its safe to travel to the Philippines but just like most countries around the world, there are places wherein you have to use common sense and be streetsmart. In the few times I've visited the US, I've seen more nuts on the streets of LA and New York than in Metro Manila in my entire lifetime.

bottomline of the issue is the world is not a safe place anymore..and if you think about it what ever part of the world. Regarding the hostage taking you have to take in mind that sometimes people do crazy things to get attention or to have the people open their eyes to what is neglected

No, the Philippines is about as safe as any other country in the world to travel to. However, there are just people with screwed up minds who does stuff that shocks us. I heard the reason behind was that he wants the public to be aware that it is election time. THAT shallow.

no,phil. still the safe place to travel, regarding the hostage taking it is just another media hype and a well planned political picture taking for some governemnt official and aspiring senatorial candidate like chavit singson, trying to gain media mileage from the opposition, just treat this as another gimmickry from some tradional politician.

It's just happen on a day & it's not that scary. Philippines is still okay to visit or else the government will declare that the state is not that safe to travel.

He was asking for good education for the children. What he did is wrong but we all know that the intention is good. If you're scared to go anywhere then just stay wherever you are. Don't go out.

He's just one of those nut heads in the world. It just happens that he had more exposure in the media. That doesn't say that the country isn't safe to visit anymore. That's foolish.
