You do realize that Iran does provide a significant risk to us, our allies, and our interests. Do you blame Bush and Blair? Come on, even the leaders of China and Russia agree with us on this issue (to a certain extent, yes).

God da mn, can't any of you read the question as it is written? I'm not suggesting we go to war with iran, nor am I suggesting I agree with Pres. Bush on any of his policies.

I just want a liberal opinion on the STANDOFF between Iran and the West.

How much clearer can I make it?

I'm not "liberal" but let me weigh in on your position, which I assume is to go ahead and invade Iran (am I correct?).

Let's face a simple, little thing called reality.
Our illustrious leader (President Bush), squandered our troop strength when he foolishly decided to invade a non-threatening nation like Iraq.

In case you haven't noticed, our troop strength in Afghanistan is at an all-time low and the Taliban (remember those bad boys?) are slowing regaining power.

The troops have been diverted to Iraq...I think it was suppose to be for the WMD or something like that (whatever it was, we didn't find it in Iraq).

Now, our troops have been RE-deployed um, three, four (?) times now.
So, without implementing a draft (and I'm sure YOU are so patriotic that you'd sign up right away, yes?), our troops will find little rest between repeated tours of duty.

In short...our troop strength is very, very LOW.

So - what troops do YOU think we'll use to invade Iran?
Where will these magical soldiers come from?
Do you think Pres. Bush is gonna pull them outta his butt?

And after pissing off our allies in other countries, we damn sure cannot rely on their support, now can we?

By the way, let me reiterate that I'm NOT a liberal.
I'm actually a registered Republican and I'm damn tired of all the BS coming out of the White House.

Maybe you can overlook the stench, but your children will hate you for it when the final chapters of history are written about this presidency.

North Korea mean anythng?
For get about all the countries...look inward:
Internal strife and economic ruin is in our backyard. The greedy ones turn our attentio outwards to avoid the spotlight being placed on them and the thievery they practice on the American people, natural resources, and wealth We must focus on US first and stength will come from that, allowing us not to be a target in the first place.

All I hear from you is us mine mine and mine.
Iran and Iraq are not our countiries.

As far as Jesus' teaching, turn the other cheeck and work for peace at cost to your own life is the greatest rewarded in heavan. Now, the right wing Christian's want to kill Arabs, so ,
who is following the teaching more closely?
You want to kill Araabs, steal their oil to keep your own lifestyles, well, that is wrong. But so be it, you all never learn from history and that is why you keep repeating the same dumb stuff and this is the definition of insanity.

Hey Dude don't you realise that the USA poses the gravest of grave risks to the mankind and the whole world and it is very funny to say Iran poses a risk ..

Its all politics thats it, i think you know what happened and happening in Iraq even after the UN inspection the US made a mockery of Iraq and has made the country to boil in blood on a daily basis

What happens if all others countries think the other way round and see USA as a threat to them....

Lets learn by what did not work in Iraq. Let the UN keep adding sanctions and let their neighbors deal with them.
